The National Gamekeepers Organisation have teamed up with the Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust and are running a half day course that addresses the legal aspects of snaring and best practice, in particular this focuses on the results of recent GWCT research and trials which have provided substantial improvement in snare design and welfare.

The topics covered are:

  • Snaring and the law (including code of practice)
  • Snare design - the law, advice, new technology and best practice
  • Equipment and preparation
  • Snaring in practice including non-target considerations and humane dispatch

Candidates will gain much from this course in terms of reinforcing the code of snaring best practice and the use of the new snares that have been developed over the last five years.

The National Gamekeepers' Organisation will be running course with the GWCT each course can have up to 20 candidates. Candidates will have to pass a short test at the end of the course and a certificate will be issued by the Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust to every successful candidate.

The cost of the course is £60.00 + VAT (£72.00)
